As part of commemorating 130 years of Fatwa scholarship, Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta conferred special honors on former Grand Muftis—including Dr. Nasr Farid Wassel, Dr. Ali Gomaa, and Dr. Shawki Allam—and extended this recognition to the families of late Grand Muftis. This tribute celebrated their enduring contributions to the institution and underscored their collective role in upholding Dar al-Ifta’s values of moderation, scholarly rigor, and responsiveness to societal change—principles that have guided its mission across generations.
